Does Cooking Calm You or Stress You?

Do you ever get stressed during the holidays? You are not alone! Preparing for the holidays can be extremely stressful. During any stressful time it’s important to practice stress management techniques.

If you’re living with high levels of stress, you’re putting your wellbeing at risk:

  • Stress causes an imbalance in our physical and emotional health.
  • Chronic stress disrupts your ability to function effectively and think clearly.
  • Not to mention, stress also impacts your ability to enjoy some of your favorite activities.

Tips to stress relief:

  • Accept the things you cannot control
  • Carve out some time to do these that help you relax such as reading, cooking or even watching television
  • Try to get incorporate daily exercise or movement
  • Start a daily journal. Journaling helps you process events and allows you to consider alternative perspectives.
  • Resolve issues before they become crises
  • Set realistic expectations for your daily to-do’s
