Most of our clients have health insurance that cover their nutrition appointments with us.
We are in-network with Aetna, Anthem BCBS, Buckeye, Caresource, Medical Mutual of Ohio, Medicaid, Medicare, Molina, Amerihealth Caritas, and Cigna. Occasionally other health insurance plans also have out-of-network benefits, so don’t hesitate to reach out!
DKit will be happy to check with your insurance plan for coverage you might have. Contact us for a discovery call to get this started.

FAQs
A discovery call is a 15 minute conversation to learn what your goals for Medical Nutrition Therapy are and to determine payment options. Insurance vs Self-pay. From there we will let you know what to expect next.
All dietitians are nutritionists, but not all nutritionists are dietitians. In Ohio, there is no licensure to become a “nutritionist”. Anyone may call themselves a “nutritionist”, so beware of unlicensed practitioners claiming to be a nutritionist. A registered dietitian is a credentialed, nationally recognized food and nutrition expert and must have:
- Completed a minimum of a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university;
- Completed an accredited supervised practice program;
- Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration;
- Kept up-to-date with required continuing education
Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) is a therapeutic approach to treating medical conditions and their associated symptoms via diet therapy. MNT can increase patient’s health and well-being, and increase productivity and satisfaction levels through decreased doctor visits, hospitalizations and reduced prescription drug use.
Every client is different… therefore every appointment is different! At initial appointments, we will go over your Health History. This will cover your medical history, health habits (eating, sleep, stress, exercise/movement), medications/supplements, family history, your lifestyle behaviors, etc. Once we go over your Health History and discuss your goals, we will dig into FOOD… what you you currently eat/typical day etc. We will brainstorm meal and snack ideas that fit into your lifestyle but also nudge you to improve your eating (and stress, exercise, sleep) habits to further improve your health. We conclude the initial appointment by creating a “Plan of Care”… basically a list of goals YOU set and feel confident in!
We see most of our clients on an on-going basis (although you don’t have to, you can just come once if you want) to motivate and encourage them to keep improving. In the beginning we may see clients more often (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly) but once you are in the maintenance phase, you may only schedule a couple times a year to check in. Again… whatever works for YOU!
At DiYK, we strive to be very thorough and give you the best care. We set aside sixty minutes for most initial appointments, although the time can be split between appointments if you cannot stay for the full time (we understand). Follow-ups totally depend! Some clients have quick 30 minute appointments to check in and stay accountable, whereas other clients spend ninety minutes with us to follow-up. That’s the beauty of working with us… it’s all about YOUR needs!
Dietitian In Your Kitchen enforces a 48 hour cancellation policy. It is the responsibility of the client to cancel the appointment or to re-schedule the appointment. If a client fails to cancel or re-schedule their appointment within 48 hours, we will charge a late cancellation fee of $50.
Emergencies may be exempt, at the discretion of the dietitian.
We can chat over the phone or through our HIPAA compliant video conferencing platform, Healthie.
